Vision & Mission

A-STEP was created with the main aim of helping the youth and kids to unlock their talents and potentials and transform their community, the kids and youth targeted comes from rural and urban area in Uasin Gishu county this region has been experiencing challenges with Idle youth and kids because of single headed families, lack of parental care, HIV/AIDS and poverty.
This idleness has numerous results such as academic failure, a high rate of crime, early marriage and teen pregnancy, drugs & alcohol abuse. Besides this, a part of the youth-community faces challenges of discouragement due to lack of opportunity as a result of poverty or lack of education. This discouragement makes them vulnerable for bad influences of several different natures.
However, children and youth have shown the potential of development through sports in very challenging environment. They have used sport as alternative occupation, to pass time, entertainment, connectedness and peaceful coexistence. Tremendous successes have been achieved with such talents becoming role models.
