Internship opportunities
Intern Volunteer Information
A-STEP is constantly open to expressions of interests from volunteers who are willing to work a minimum of one month.
Overview
Intern Volunteers in our program are responsible for running our weekly sports and physical education programs (which involves coaching & games sessions with groups of 10-18 year olds, teaching teamwork, new sports and new skills both in community and schools), as well as our seasonal sporting tournaments. Interns are also expected to help us with various back office tasks.
Currently our weekly sports training programs are held every day in the evenings from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the local community fields. Our sports community tournaments are generally held on week-ends. Volunteers therefore work in between 4-5 days per week for about 4-6 hours per day.
In December 2013, a SWOT analyses of the organization was done and a strategy developed from this analyses. Creating an IGA for A-step is a major part of this strategy (see here – link to the goals).
The intern will assit A-STEP by coming up with strategies and ideas of accomplishing this goal.
