Community and environmental program

The community is the primary setting that we all live in and to succeed in life one has to be in tandem with the surroundings (community and its environment). The program ensures that the youths know the in’s and out’s of their community and how it works.

This environmental component of the program, A-STEP, covers mainly the physical environment/ surrounding and the way this affects their well being.

This is done by educating youths on importance of watching their hygiene and how to manage waste disposal in the correct way.

The program involves the youths in activities that show them the importance of the environment. It inform them about activities that add on environmental degradation and how they can work hand in hand to conserve their environment.

With concern to the community, this program gives the youths an insight on the structures that run the community from the local leaders to the local administrative institutions. Knowing the administrative structures helps them know their rights as citizens of this Great Nation- Kenya and ultimately stop incidences of exploitation by anyone with an evil motive.

In this program, A-STEP employs activities like:
  • Community clean-ups,
  • Environmental conservancy discussions,
  • Civic education,
  • Trainings on waste/ refuse disposal
  • How to recycle materials
